Dr. Henry Acland (1815-1900) was a friend of the controversial art critic John Ruskin (1819-1900), whom he met while they were undergraduates at Christ Church, Oxford.

Binding lightly scuffed, color unevenly faded, small water stains, diagonal crease across lower right corner of the front cover, corner and edge bumps. Endpapers discolored. Over-opened pages at gathering E. Few page creases and occasional minor smudges. FCB-829. Item #829
